Onsite psychologist program for staff

The Wellbeing Team has partnered with our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provider Converge to implement a three-month onsite psychologist program for staff.

As part of the program, three experienced consultants – Tom Pietkiewicz, Debra Rose and Louise Fairweather – will be based at Northern Hospital Epping, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn Centre and Broadmeadows Hospital, to offer comprehensive integrated onsite counselling support designed to assist staff in meeting challenges in their work and personal life.

The consultants can assist staff in building positive relationships, grieving and bereavement supports, mental health concerns and challenges, managing change in work and personal environments and more. Counselling services will be offered weekly, via Telehealth, video call or face-to-face sessions.

Meet Tom Pietkiewic

With over 15 years’ experience as a registered psychologist, Tom has worked closely within the healthcare industry, having supported staff from Peninsula Health and the Royal Women’s Hospital. Tom’s expertise is coaching professionals to grow and learn, but his more recent work has involved working with people who have experienced trauma or a critical situation. Tom will be based at Northern Hospital Epping.

Meet Debra Rose

With over 25 years’ experience as a counsellor, trainer and consultant, Debra has also worked closely with other health services including Peninsula Health and the Royal Women’s Hospital. Debra works with individuals and organisations, and she specialises in the support, development and training of staff, in particular those who work with clients who have experienced trauma, significant hardship and complex life circumstances. Debra will be based at Bundoora Centre and Broadmeadows Hospital.

Meet Louise Fairweather

A qualified psychologist with over 17 years’ experience in psychological assessment, coaching, program design and delivery, Louise brings her past experience in coaching health care professionals and developing wellbeing programs. Louise will be based at Northern Hospital Epping and Craigieburn Centre.

Renee Camilleri, Wellbeing Partner, People and Culture, said the on-site psychologist program was another opportunity to promote a culture of safety and care within the workplace.

“We know seeking support looks different for everyone, and we want to ensure staff have access to a wide range of offerings. We received fantastic feedback from staff last year when we had Cathartic Consulting onsite, so we have listened. All of the consultants have a wealth of knowledge in the health sector, which we felt was a crucial component of the program,” she said.
