Spreading Christmas cheer across Northern Health

Northern Health staff embraced the festive spirit throughout December, celebrating the holiday season with a variety of fun and engaging activities.

The festivities kicked off with the much-anticipated annual Christmas BBQs held across all Northern Health sites. These events provided a wonderful opportunity for staff to come together, reflect on another year of dedicated care to our northern community, and share in the holiday cheer. In addition, the Northern Health Community Choir delighted everyone with joyful Christmas carols at each BBQ, getting staff into the merry mood.

Santa from Pacific Epping made a special visit to our Children’s and Maternity Wards, bringing joy and cheer to children and their families who are spending time in hospital over the festive season. Children were delighted at the sight of the man in the red suit, with happy grins and laughter all around.

For the seventh year in a row, our ISS Facility Services team spread Christmas magic to the Children’s Ward through their annual ISS Christmas Appeal. Presents generously donated by our local community were gifted to children, with Snez Poposka, Facilities Services Manager at ISS, running the Christmas Appeal since 2017.

And of course, it wouldn’t be Christmas at Northern Health without our beloved Christmas Decorating Competition. Staff from every corner of Northern Health joined in the fun, transforming wards, hallways, and offices with tinsel, baubles, and creative displays of holiday magic. This year’s competition saw incredible participation, with six teams from across the organisation earning well-deserved prizes for their outstanding decorations.
