Chief Executive End of Year Message
As we approach Christmas, I find myself reflecting on how much we have achieved this year. It hasn’t always been easy; there were challenges that stretched us and moments that asked us to dig even deeper to find solutions. But together, we rose to every occasion. And the outcomes have been extremely positive.
What inspires me most is not just what we achieved, but how we achieved it; with courage, creativity, and a deep sense of care for one another. That spirit is what makes Northern so special, and I couldn’t be prouder to work alongside each of you.
This season is about gratitude, and I want you to know how truly grateful I am, for your hard work, your resilience, and the heart you bring to everything you do. Please take this time to rest, recharge, and celebrate with those who matter most to you.
While many will be taking a much-deserved break, I would like to acknowledge and thank those who will be working to care for the community over the festive season. As we know, there will be people spending Christmas in hospital; some facing significant health challenges. Our thoughts are with our patients and those caring for them.
On behalf of our Board Chair, Adjunct Professor, Alan Lilly, the Northern Health Board and the Executive Team, I wish you a festive season filled with joy, peace, and many blessings, and a New Year full of promise and possibility. The events of the past few weeks remind us how precious life is and how vital it is to stand together in compassion and strength.
Here’s to all we’ve accomplished this year and all the wonderful things ahead of us in 2026.
See you all in the new year.
Kind Regards,
Debra Bourne
