ISS Celebrates 10 Years of Partnership
There was plenty to celebrate as ISS Facility Services, marked 10 years of partnership with Northern Health and recognised the outstanding people who have contributed to that success.
A highlight of the event was the recognition of 50 ISS employees who reached their 10‑year length‑of‑service milestone, each receiving a commemorative certificate, service pin, and chocolates in appreciation of their contribution.
The event also recognised staff who consistently go above and beyond, with seven Apple Awards presented to employees nominated by Northern Health for excellence in service delivery, alongside seven GEM (Going the Extra Mile) Awards—ISS’s internal recognition program celebrating exceptional effort and commitment.
Reflecting on the milestone, Kevin Maczkowiack, Regional General Manager of Health for Northern and Central Victoria at ISS, acknowledged the strength of the partnership with Northern Health. He said, “ISS is aligned to Northern Health values and looks forward to our ongoing partnership for years to come.”
Northern Health leaders also highlighted the importance of the partnership and the impact ISS teams have on patient experience every day. Wendy Nicol, Operations Manager, shared her appreciation for the collaboration: “ISS has been an integral partner to Northern Health, helping us deliver high-quality cleaning and food services to our patients. The ISS team works closely with our Support Services department, consistently demonstrating a shared commitment to our values and goals.”
Rick Garotti, Deputy Chief Financial Officer, echoed this sentiment, saying, “We thank ISS for their outstanding contribution over the past ten years and look forward to continuing our strong partnership, with many exciting projects and opportunities ahead.”
For many employees, the celebration was also a moment to reflect on personal journeys of growth, opportunity, and service.
Snezana Poposka, ISS Key Account Manager, shared her pride in reaching the milestone, “Thank you to my colleagues, leaders, and team for your support throughout this incredible journey. Proud to contribute to delivering quality support services that make a difference every day. Here’s to the next chapter!”
Among those recognised was Faasino Siaosi, Facilities Services Manager for Broadmeadows Hospital and Bundoora Centre, whose career progression highlights the opportunities available within ISS. Faasino remembers how she began her journey in health in 2023. “I had my children while still working. Serving the community at Northern Health has been a true blessing. My time with ISS at Northern Health has provided incredible opportunities for growth and development. Starting in Food Services, I moved into Menu Monitoring, then Supervisory roles, and today I am proud to serve as a Facility Services Manager in Broadmeadows and soon Bundoora Centre. Each step of this journey has been a significant achievement, made possible through hard work, dedication, and the support of those around me. I am grateful for the experiences, challenges, and opportunities that have shaped my career and allowed me to contribute to the health and wellbeing of our community.”
The celebration also highlighted the dedication of long‑serving team members who play an essential role in patient care and experience every day.
Heather Green, ISS Menu Monitor, reflected on the impact of her career in healthcare food services, “After 10 years with ISS and 24 years in Food Service with Northern Health, I’m proud to be part of the hospital team that keeps everyone fed, fueled, and smiling.”
For Valentina Nikoloska, ISS Menu Monitor, the milestone was an opportunity to acknowledge the friendships and memories built along the way. “Having worked 10 years for ISS, I’ve met some wonderful people along the way, made lifelong friendships, and I’m proud to be part of such an amazing team. I’m grateful for the journey and for the chance to make a difference in our patients’ hospital stay at Northern Health.”
Congratulations to all award recipients and service milestone achievers and thank you to every ISS team member. Here’s to many more years of delivering exceptional support services and making a positive difference for patients, staff, and the wider community.
